Dental work during pregnancy
 
 

Dental work during pregnancy is permitted.  The mother-to-be may have any dental work that her dentist feels should be done during pregnancy.  There are a few precautions which must be followed.  These include:

  • X-rays may be taken while the patient wears a lead apron
  • Local anesthesia may be used
  • No gasses may be used
  • Antibiotics are permitted, except tetracyclines or quinolones
  • Plain Tylenol or Tylenol#3 may be taken
  • Aspirin or ibuprofen should not be taken
