Dr. McClelland joined our practice in June 2000, after completing his Residency at Duke University Medical Center and serving 4 years as Chief of Obstetrics at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, TX.

Dr. McClelland specializes in minimally invasive gynecological surgery. He was the first physician in the Charlotte area to perform Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery or SILS tm for hysterectomies (google: SILS hysterectomy). He is currently the most experienced surgeon having performed over 150 successful hysterectomies through a single 2cm incision hidden in the belly-button. This innovative procedure reduces scaring, pain and quickens recovery with most patients being able to return to normal activities within 1-2 weeks.

Dr. McClelland teaches this revolutionary procedure to surgeons from around the country at a monthly course held at The Women's Center in Rock Hill, SC. He has travelled nationally and internationally speaking to and teaching other surgeons about SILS tm.

SILS tm (also known as Laparoendoscopic Single Site Surgery or LESS) can also be used for minor surgical procedures such as removal of ovaries and cysts.
